Busy, busy, busy

Long Sleep
I've been exceptionally busy this week. It's a strange sort of busyness though. Whilst it hasn't stopped me sitting here and catching up reading my LJ friends and the various bits and pieces of comics news and discussion on Millarworld and Newsarama it has prevented me from actually typing anything. That's because the work has consisted mainly of printing stuff out and then sorting it. And it's been the kind of sorting that involves making two piles into one pile. Not exactly the stuff that needs any concentration. Except for when I fuck it up. Which hasn't happened very often, thankfully. (Twice this week, I think. Although yesterday's did involve wasting a rather large amount of paper when I accidentally printed the same stuff out twice. Oops)

That means that I haven't talked about the things that have happened this week. And quite a lot has happened... (Printer has stopped printing. I must go and feed it and then come back...)

(Back now.)

When I say 'quite a lot has happened', I'm actually being positive as well. It's been a good week! The first good thing was going out on Saturday night. It was only to a friend's place for pizza but I decided that I would make the effort and go dressed in my feminine finery. Actually getting all the clothes and make up on was a very good thing. It just felt right. It's difficult to explain - maybe one of the Tgirls who have friended me can make a comment and try to explain it better. Or anyone, really. All I know is that putting on a skirt and blouse, covering my face with foundation, powder, eye makeup, blusher and lippy and slipping into a pair of heels is just exactly the right thing to do. Actually, does it need any more explanation than that?
One thing I did discover, though, was that I need a new black mini skirt. Of the two I own, one is currently too small for me and the other (the one I wore) fit perfectly at my hips but slipped down off my waist so I had to keep hiking it up all evening. Which isn't a very feminine move to make! So, it's in to town after work today, I think.

To make the evening even better, I had a really good time at Pete and Lesley's independent of the wearing a skirt bit.

The other major bit of goodness is that I got a loan approved! I was really very dubious about whether or not I was going to get it, considering the really crap time I've had with money over the last year or so. But I did! So, whilst most of the loan is going to pay off another loan (this one is at a much lower interest rate), we're also going to be able to go on our honeymoon (to either here or here and also buy a new mattress (which is of vital importance - the old one is very old and is really making our backs ache) and we're going to splash out and get one of those memory foam ones.

And I've been getting lots of positive feedback at work. So that makes all the busyness worthwhile. I think this is the first time I've ever had this sort or this amount of positivity from people. It's really nice!
