Apparently, one of the guest stars for next year's series of Torchwood is James 'Spike from Buffy and Angel' Marsters.
Start your Spike/Captain Jack slash writing engines.... NOW!
Although, considering how slashy the first series of T'Wood was, you may have to go some to beat the real story.

I don't know if you've noticed but I haven't been posting much these last couple of months. It's partly been due to being reasonably busy at work and partly due to just being totally blocked with writing anything. There has been a similar dearth of email-age (and, I apologise to anyone and everyone to whom I owe one. I'd make a list but I think it'd just be too intimidating. There are a lot of people I need to email) and also in my story writing and editing. The edit on Down Among The Yla has completely stalled. I think yesterday was the first time I looked at it in about six weeks.

On Saturday night, Candy and I celebrated our first year living together as husband and wife. And, as is only fitting for this occasion, I wore a very pretty dress.
It's the long, chocolate brown dress that I wore in the last photo shoot, but this time, the photos include my face avec make up and some jewellery! They don't show the shoes, but I'm wearing (well, wore for most of the night, anyway) the shoes I had on with the other outfit that several people told me went better with this dress - and they were totally correct!
These photos were taken for me by
shewhomust, for which I must thank her - there aren't that many people who are prepared to indulge in my narcissm. But, fortunately, I am married to one and have another for my best friend. Aren't I a lucky girl?
( But I'll put them behind a cut )
There were quite a few people there - but not enough to make the house too crowded - including the aforementioned
shewhomust,
durham_rambler and Chaz (they're all the people who were there who have a web presence of some sort...) and Kathryn, Mark, Sue, my mom and her husband John, My big bro Sean, Jane and Sally. It was lovely to see everyone and even better to celebrate the wedding to my gorgeous and wonderful wife, whom I utterly adore.
As it is our first anniversary, which is, of course, our paper anniversary, we bought each other books. Candy got me three of the Doctor Who Target book novelisations! She is an astounding woman - She knows I am both a transvestite and a complete geek (I'm not sure which is worse...)and she still marries me and has a child with me (and allows me to start turning him into a geek. We'll leave the crossdressing for the moment) and, what's more, she indulges both of them! She got me Doctor Who and the Daleks, Doctor who and the Abominable Snowmen and Meglos. Ahh, such blissful geekiness...

geeky
I have had a totally geektastic, Whovian few days. It all started last Thursday with the new Doctor Who Magazine. It continued on Saturday morning when the latest SFX Special Edition, which was a Doctor Who special, dropped through my letter box (yes, I am such a geek that I subscribe to it). This was followed on Saturday evening by the first new series trailer and then I that followed by downloading the first of the 'Tardisodes'(a neologism which makes me go 'ick' by the way...). Then, yesterday morning, whilst having breakfast, the postie delivered my Series One box set, which when I opened it up gave me a big fanboy grin on my face. It's a very cool package, although really rather awkward for storage purposes, taking up, as it does, the space of about five or six ordinary DVD cases. Oh well.
Last night, when I got home from work, Max and I watched 'Rose' (the first episode of Series One) - he had apparently been pestering his Mother to watch it and to play with the DVD box (if you don't know, it's in the shape of the Tardis), but she wouldn't let him until I got home. I think he enjoyed it, or the exciting bits anyway. I think he'll enjoy episode 2 (The End of the World) even more, because there are lots more aliens in it. Anyway, now, as well as knowing what a Dalek is, he knows who The Doctor is (at least the Eccleston incarnation), who Rose is and what a Tardis ("Tardist") is. I am SO proud of my son!

My last entry on my LJ - which I guess kind of makes this an 'existing on life support Journal' if not quite a Dead Journal - was on July 20th. And it was a pretty piss poor one to go quiet on as well. Oh well, that's life.
I've been doing lots of work - not good work or interesting work or well paid work - but work, and work that didn't allow me any internet access at all - for the last few months. I'm not going to talk about it because it was just horrendously dull and absolutely bloody awful. On the plus side, it's finished now. On the minus side, this means that I am once again unemployed. This has not been a great year for the ol' finances. What with getting married, being forced to move and neither Candy nor I having particularly brilliantly paid jobs it's been kind of hard. But, it'll get better. And, when I finally finish my MCSE (which is going well now, thanks for asking. There was a hard point in September just after the move when I lost my motivation for about a month or so, but it's back now and I'm just about to do my first exam. If things go well the rest of the course should get done more quickly.)
SO, what are the good things that have happened? Well, Max just gets better and better every single day. He constantly comes up with new stuff that neither one of us know where it came from and he's really articulate and imaginative and inquisitive. (The latter can make it hard occasionally. When he's meant to be going to sleep he is an expert at delaying it by asking 'whassat?'at every little sound. Which made it interesting around November the Fifth, I can tell you...) Candy and I celebrated our 15th year of being together this last month, which was very nice. We had lots of friends around who all brought gorgeous food and bottles of stuff and we just had a great afternoon, going into a really pleasant evening just sitting around talking to
shewhomust,
durham_rambler and Chaz. Something I haven't done for far too long and really need to do again soon. (Which, considering I'll be going to see them this weekend, is going to happen soon! Yay!)
Oh, and I've discovered the BBC Radio Listen Again malarkey. It's great stuff, that allows you to listen again (as the title implies) to radio programmes for a week after they've been broadcast. And, considering Radio 7 does the Goons and I'm Sorry I Haven't A Clue very week and there's a new series of Clue on Radio 4 and Radio 7 (again) have been broadcasting Doctor Who audios, things have been really pretty good on that front. Combining that with my MP3 player has been pretty much the only thing that's kept my sane(ish) whilst doing working. (I'm actually recording 'Galileo's Daughter' from Radio 7 as I type.)
So, there we go. I'm back on LJ. Dunno how often I'll update this thing. I'll try and be more regular whilst I'm unemployed but I don't know how long that will go on for - not too long, hopefully - and who knows what'll happen when I'm once again a non-dole scrounger.

I was just talking to a couple of the girls at work here about Doctor Who. They were just about to say some things I did not know about that they saw in the trailer after the episode (I make a point of avoiding the trailers, because I hate spoilers like that). I interrupted to explain that I was trying to keep this week's episode as spoiler free as possible - I think I know too much about it already that I wished I didn't know. So, what did they do? They continued telling me what they saw. Is it me or is that incredibly bad mannered and ignorant?
