Ah the weekend. It was about half and half nice and completely crap.
The nice - I didn't have to sort out anyone else's computer problems, like I did last weekend. Friends came round on Saturday afternoon and Candy made biscuits, both of which are always Good Things, even better when they are combined. Then, in the evening, we went top visit these same friends to celebrate Lesley's completion of her PhD. I got dressed sort-of girly (all femme clothes, but still looking pretty male - not much make up, just a touch of lipgloss and eye shadow) and my mom, who was babysitting for Max, said that I looked realy good and what I was wearing really suited me. So that was excellent.
Sunday was when it got not so good. I woke up and my rhinitis, which I thought had gone after my septoplasty earlier in the year, appeasr to be back with a vengeance. It has now hit me every weekend for the last three weekends but Sunday's was the absolute worst in a very long time. It just completely knocked me out.
However, it didn't stop us doing things - we went to visit Sarah and Mike, my stepbrother. Sarah gave birth a couple of weeks ago to a gorgeous baby boy called Theo and we went to inspect him. And truly, he is very cute. I find it so hard to believe that Max used to be that size... It's rather odd that Theo's big sister, Isabelle, (who is just coming up to two years of age) is almost completely silent. When Max was that age, he was chattering pretty non-stop (and really hasn't stopped...). She understands everything, though. I'm sure that she'll suddenly start coming out with complete sentences in the not-too-distant future.
And Candy's mom came up from London again, because she'd been screwed over ny the hospital. She was meant to go into hospital to have an operation on her foot and had it cancelled because - and get this - the surgeon was on holiday... Now that's what I call organisation! Mind you, I've just had a phone call from Candy saying that her mom has to go back to London today because she's been called into the hospital tomorrow.
And, oh yes, we got another final demand from British Gas...
