One word... ha ha ha...

I haven't done a word count for a while. I have been extremely remiss. But, to tell the truth, I haven't been as good and assiduous as I should have been. However, I've done pretty well this week. I've managed about 2,500 words of Ghostkin and a third 1000 word story for Cover Stories, so I'm happy with that. Hopefully, I can keep it up. I've got one more Cover Stories story write, although I don't yet have any firm idea about what I'm going to do for it. I'll get there, though. The last one was a sudden bolt from the blue - it came from watching a TED talk by Professor Brian Cox about why we need explorers in which he talked a little about Europa. Something just clicked and the story sprang into my head. Not entirely fully formed, but certainly getting there. (You should go and watch that talk, by the way, it's really rather good.)

So, yeah, I'm hoping for something similar to happen. I do have a couple of ideas, but I don't know if they'll work and, as they're really not much more than a single line and I haven't been able to work anything more from them other than that one line, maybe they aren't really strong enough.

Anyway, have a word count.

Hell, have another one...

So... where do you get your ideas from?

(Actually, this is the thing that fascinates me. I have loads of ideas, but they aren't *story* ideas. Whereas people who write stories, they get their ideas in the exact same way as I do, only somehow those ideas are stories.)

Obviously, I get my ideas from genius scientists. In fact, I suppose I should let the secret out - CERN isn't actually trying to discover Dark Matter, it's investigating the origin of Narratrons - the basis of all ideas.
